Cancelled Trip to Bintan

This weekend, I had intended to go to Bintan, Indonesia on an organized, exchange student vacation. Bintan Island is 40 km from Singapore. The group was going to take the ferry and then a bus to the Cabana Beach Resort Bintan. The pictures below are where we would stay. In the Facebook group it said that 80 people were attending from NTU so it would have been a blast.

 

The thing is....we did not get to go to Bintan. We didn't go on this trip as we were waiting for our student visa's to be processed. We were advised not to leave the country and to wait one week until the card was issued. Once I have this card however, I can leave and return the country essentially like a resident without any issues. The trip may be rescheduled for 2 weeks from now. Also as it crazy monsoon rained and was going to continue all weekend it is not the end of the world that we didn't go away.
